Giulio Scaramella
Born in Gorizia in 1987, Giulio Scaramella graduated with honors and honors in piano at the "Giuseppe Tartini" conservatory in Trieste under the guidance of Prof. Igor Cognolato; later he perfected himself at the prestigious biennial school of chamber music of the Trio di Parma and obtains a II level degree in jazz interpretation. He had the opportunity to deepen his studies (both in jazz and classical) at masterclasses and seminars with several internationally renowned musicians (Danilo Perez, Keith Tippet, Glauco Venier, Gwylem Simcock, Benedetto Lupo, Johannes Jess Kropfitsch, Peep Lassman, Bart Van Oort, Karl Barth, Arthur Topilow, Nik Baertsch, etc.). He obtained numerous awards at international and national competitions (winner of the International City of Treviso Competition (1st cl.) And of the "Chicco Bettinardi" prize in Piacenza (2nd cl.), Finalist at the National Arts Award in the Chamber Music section) . In 2015 he was awarded the Franco Russo prize as a young emerging talent, and on this occasion he performed in a concert at the main stage of the international festival Trieste Loves Jazz. With the disc Oirquartett (Abeat Records), he won the prize for best work before 2015 in the national competition Chicco Bettinardi.
He has played at several international festivals such as Rimini Jazz (with the recording of a live CD, "TEJO live in Rimini), Heraklion Summer Arts Festival, Jazz In Albania, Mittelfest, Yakinthia Festival, Trieste Loves Jazz, Veneto Jazz, Jazz & Wine, Sile Jazz, Rubano Art Festival, Painted strophes of Jazz, Summer Music Festival, In the Sounds of Places, and in various European countries (Albania, Greece, Germany, Austria, France, Slovenia, Croatia).
He is involved in several musical projects: Trieste Early Jazz Orchestra, Joplin Ragtime Orchestra, Soul Circus Gospel Choir, Fade Ou3, Oirquartett, MD's Quartet. He has recorded for: RAI Italian Radio and Television, Vatican Radio, State Radio, Radio Capodistria, Telefriuli, Radio Lattemiele, Radiobase, Udinese Channel.
Starting from 2008, with Fade Out Trio, he takes care of the realization of a project that combines classical and jazz music, which culminates with the publication of a CD containing arrangements in a jazz key by Scriabin, Chopin, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and other authors. From 2013 he records for the record company Abeat Records, under whose production a CD of his own compositions is released, Making Friends (2013, which sees Klaus Gesing as a guest, considered by critics one of the major European exponents of the soprano sax) and Oirquartett ( 2015). Giulio Scaramella is a piano teacher at the "Music Institute" of Gorizia.
